Flat Roofing
Two Ply Torch-On Low Slope Installations
Two Ply Torch-On roofing systems are the most common type of flat roof at the moment. They are a 2 ply system. The first ply is a water barrier and the second ply acts as a water barrier that also has the sun resistant coating.
Torch-On is available in various colors such as white, green, brown, black, grey and light grey. If you are not happy with the current insulation in your attic space, additional insulation can be added on top of the roof during installation.
Single Ply Low Slope Roof Installations
Single ply roofing systems such as, TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) and EPDM (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) do not require the use of torches.
TPO is a heat welded system comparable to DuraDeck and is a 1 ply system generally used on commercial buildings. TPO single ply installations will give the same insulating protection as a two ply system and we can add insulation & roof right over top to adds a higher R value to your homes insulation. This saves you money on heating and air conditioning!
EPDM, like TPO, is a single ply system however it is not usually mechanically fastened, it is a ballasted system which is weighed down by rocks and all seams are glued.
Both TPO and EPMD systems can be 100% adhered in some applications.
